This place is marked on the school map as S1.

The construction workshop is open from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 12 pm and from 2 pm to 5 pm.

The construction workshop is open to all students who need to use it to carry out their artistic project. 

The project must be approved by one of the teachers. 

The construction workshop is not an open access area. 

=== What professional machinery is in the construction workshop? ===

In the construction workshop there are:
* The '''wood section''' includes a panel saw, a band saw, a radial-arm saw, circular saw, a computer-driven tracer, a laser-cutting machine and a stock of handheld machines and hand tools. 

* The '''metal area''' contains electric shears, a metal folding machine, a metal cutter, two stations for TIG/MIG aluminium and stainless steel welding. 

* The '''casting area''' has a thermal-forming machine, a hollow base for moulding, a computer-aided machine for cutting polystyrene,a ceramic oven and a 3D printer. 

=== How to access the construction workshop? ===

The construction workshop is open to all students in all years, provided that the student has a project to carry out that has been approved by one of the teachers. 

=== What is the dress code in the construction workshop? ===

The most important element in the workshop is safety. 

Machines are dangerous, so it is absolutely essential to follow certain rules. 

If you have long hair, tie it back. 

Long untied hair can get wrapped around the machine spindle. 

Failure to respect this rule can scalp you at best. 

Do not wear clothes made of synthetic materials such as nylon. 

Synthetic materials are easy to burn. 

You can hurt yourself if you don't follow these instructions. 

Wear long sleeves when welding. 

Without any protection on your arms, you could get burnt. 

What's more, you must wear leather aprons. 

Leather aprons are available in the workshop. 

Do not wear sandals. 

Your shoes must be closed. 

Do not wear loose clothing. 

Like long hair, scarves, unbuttoned shirts and other loose clothing can get wrapped around the machine spindle. 

At the workshop you can borrow earplugs when it's too noisy, dust masks and goggles for moulding. 

=== How to behave in the construction workshop? ===

No food or drink is allowed in the workshop. 

You can only bring a bottle of water. 

Do not forget it before you leave. 

The workshop is a shared space for students. 

Leaving your rubbish behind is highly inappropriate. 

It is the supervisor who cleans up after you, if you do not think about doing it. 

Let's all respect each other. 

No listening to music is allowed. 

For your own safety, you need to hear everything that happens in the workshop. 

It is forbidden to use the panel saw. 

Only the supervisor can use it. 

If you want to use the equipment, check if someone else is using it at the moment. 

Students sometimes take material without asking and prevent others from finishing their work. 

Let's all respect each other. 

=== How do I access the machines in the construction workshop? ===

You can only use a machine if you have received an oral training on how to use it. 

It is forbidden to use a machine with which you are not familiar. 

It is forbidden to use the panel saw. 

Only the supervisor can use it. 

Each machine has a red emergency stop button. 

=== How to borrow equipment from the construction workshop? ===

Small hand-held equipment can be borrowed for half a day on school premises. 

If you want to borrow the small hand-held equipment you need the supervisor's permission. 

If you have received permission, you must enter your name, the date, year of studies and title of the equipment loaned in the equipment loan book. 

Once you have returned the equipment, cross out the information. 

=== How to maintain the construction workshop? ===

You should always clean up after work. 

You have to vacuum up the wood dust and sanding dust, collect the waste and put the equipment back in the cupboards. 

You have to sort your waste. 

There is a recycling bin for metals, one for polystyrene and one for wood scraps. 

You must not throw fresh plaster down the sink. 

Keeping the workshop clean is primarily your responsibility. 

The construction workshop supervisor is not there to clean up after you.
