When you want to rent an apartment, the lessor may ask you to have a guarantor.
In general, a guarantor is someone who undertakes to pay the rent and utilities if you are unable to do so.
If you don't know anyone who could become your guarantor, or if no one close to you has enough money, thanks to the Visale guarantee, you can ask the State to become your guarantor.
HAVING A GUARANTOR IS MANDATORY IN CROUS STUDENT RESIDENCES.
Visale guarantee, what is it?
The Visale guarantee is a free deposit offered by Action Logement to all students who need it.
It pays the rent and any potential repairs to the accommodation.
This deposit will be your guarantor.
How does it work?
If you don't pay your rent, the owner informs Action Logement.
Action Logement pays back any unpaid sums to your lessor.
After that, it's up to you to repay Action Logement.
